Nuttz how is Hawaii coming?

You said a while back you were working on it. I am ready to have the terrain team make one, but don't want to if you are going to do it.

Let me know.

what time frame are you looking for?

Map is built, ships need to be placed and a few feilds. I've been preoccupied with 3 maps I have been working on for MA submissions. I can Move Ohau up in prioity and work on it with "Ivyland" MA map.

My main question about pearl harbor. If I try and get the map to be realistic in scale the ships in the map WILL NOT be able to move within the harbor. If I make consessions and make the harbor larger than it really was in scale to the map ( I think AW had to do this) I can get some ships to be able to be player controlled and try to leave the harbor ( as in real Life). Is the CT team willing to make this consession? Personally I would. Either way by monday or earlier I can give you the res file for preview, although It probably won't be finished.

I'm guessing defend Hawaii with P-40Bs and F4Fs (and SBDs).

The Japanese would get A6m-2s Vall and Kate.

sounds like fun

Anything more realistic would be a special event.

This map should be great for the mission arena though.

About the only what if scenario would be......................

A Japanese invasion of Hawaii based on their success after the attack. Of course we know there were no Japanese transports anywhere near Hawaii.  In Dec 1941, except near Wake Island. You could still simulate this with 6 IJN CV's
3 USN CV's, and some bases on the Hawaiian Islands.

Give the U.S. the Boston to simulate the early B-17s, but maybe just at one base. Anyway as always the setup would suffer from a lack of Japanese pilots. The 325th FG would fly Japanese for this setup on it's regular Tuesday/Thursday night squad nights.

Don't give the USN any cruiser task forces, and give the IJN a couple to represent their surface force advantage at the start of the war. Thats about the only ideas I can offer.:)

Good ideas, I agree.

BTW, I used to live in Oahu, can't wait to see the map!

Me and Pokie had this idea for a senerio. 512x512 map and place 4 Ohau islands on the map. So you won't know which one is attacked. this would help keep the element of surprise ( somewhat) and the US would have to scramble to the correct island. The INJ needs a torp plane. Once HTC adds more planes this senerio would be great with the proper planeset,, soon in the future:)

No big special event planned brady. Would be good for some Snapshots and "what if's".  TOD's could use it also for some fun frames.

Nuttz if you can crank it out in a few weeks that would be great. I agree, I would make the harbor larger so the ships can move about.

I will check back in a couple of weeks or you can send me the .res file and I will pass it on to sundog and team.
