Lost Hot Key / JS Button Programming?
« on: December 31, 2002, 10:52:24 AM »
The past two days, i have been unable to take off in Aircraft b/c the throttle and RPM keys and joystick buttons have not responded. I have tried remapping, relogging, rebooting, etc. several times, but no change.

This has happened b4 w/ the WEP key, but it always returned to normal the next day, or next reboot.

Any ideas? Do I need to reload AH? If so, is there an Uninstall command?

Thx,

Are you sure that your controller is still connected???

Settings/Control Panel/Gaming Options.
Click on Gaming Options and make sure Controller status is ok

Sprint,

Thanks for replying.  The joystick still works fully on vehicles.  In fact, the same buttons I use for throttle on aircraft are used for gear up and down on vehicles.

I have default keys on the keyboard for aircraft RPM and throttle and they are not working either.  It seems that only throttle and RPM are affected!

I  think I would just reinstall AH ...  I wouldn't  uninstall AH ...  Make sure your Antivirus program isn't running when installing

But if you feel you want/need to uninstall AH ... Start/Settings/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs

Good Luck

PS: Make sure that you read my first post and every thing is working .. when I lose "controller" .. I experience the same problems that you are describing.

Sprint

I checked Gaming options and my controller status is OK.  The weird thing is that the keyboard default keys for throttle and RPM aren't working either.  I'm going to try a reinstall now and see what happens.

Thanks!

Before you reinstall, make sure you save all your settings/films/terrains/sights folders somewhere on your hardrive , floppy or CD.  Makes reinstall so easy.  I do a full uninstall/reinstall with every patch and then install latest Mitsu sound pack.  It takes all of 5 minutes

Thanks all, I finally figured it out (after I reloaded, of course!).

My cheapie joystick has a "ball" at the base that is default for the force feedback option.  Apparently, it is also working as my throttle in AH (didn't know).  Also apparently, one of my kids played with it and it was on the MIN setting!  Always wondered why others seemed to fly faster than me in the same aircraft!

I'm also going to try this Mitsu soundback

Thanks again.
