Just picked up my new barebones today consisting of an abit be7 and pentium 1.8 overclocked to 2.7. I unplugged all of my old drives and plugged by burner and cd drive into IDE 2 and my floppy into its slot (whatever its called). I then took my HD and plugged it into IDE 1. However when I go to boot up the computer some silly blue screen comes up telling my I should make sure that my HD does not have any viruses and to make sure it is configured properly. It then goes on to read that I should run " chkdsk /f". I am completely lost here and I have no idea what to do. Do you guys think i should just reformat the whole HD? I dont have any important stuff saved on it. Do you guys think that their is a way around reformating?
Here are a couple of observations I have made:
The little light on the floppy does not blink or turn off throughout the whole boot-up process.
The back of the HD is set to "15 pin" format instead of "16 pin"
I thank you for your help in advance.
Mike
