pfunk, no offense, but you know nothing about football if you think Boldin is a better quarterback than Rix or McPherson. He's by far the better athlete, but it takes more than pure physical ability to play the QB spot effectively. He threw one nice pass all game, and that one was dropped. The TD pass to Thorpe was ALL Thorpe's effort. He just wanted it more than the Georgia player. He didn't have another nice pass the rest of the game. Sure he completed a few, but one was a great catch by Morgan, and the rest were very short passes to wideouts or flares to Maddox. The only thing Boldin did better than Walker was holding onto the ball and taking the sack instead of forcing the pass. Both of Walker's INT's should either have not been thrown or thrown out of bounds (he was out of the tackle box both times, so no intentional grounding would have been called.)
Maybe if FSU runs Air Force's offense, Boldin would be the best quarterback.
The difference in the game was 13 points. 10 points came directly from Fabian Walker turnovers (INT return for a TD, fumble that was converted into a FG). That leaves 3 points of a margin. I think Rix playing would have produced at least 3 points more offense than Walker produced.
I'm not saying FSU would have definitely won if Rix had played, but they would have had a much better chance of winning if he had played.
DjV, I couldn't care less if people hate FSU, UF or Miami. Enjoy the down years. Eventually, FSU and UF will be back on top. Miami had 5 down years (associated with scholarship losses) and now they're on a 34 game winning streak and playing for their 6th title overall, and 2nd in a row. Real easy to hate a team that keeps winning, huh?
It's much easier to pull for a team that loses bad to Wake Forest.
