World Map
« on: January 03, 2003, 04:36:49 PM »
I am in initial stage of looking at building a map, sizable enough for MA use. First goal is a map that resembles something in reality, and I thought why not a map of the world.

One issue is it is not semetrical. I have moved some of the land masses closer together to avoid big bodies of water between land masses. It still seems difficult to divide map for some sort of 3way balance.

I would love some input from others on how best the map below could be divided so not any team had unfair advantage or a portion was always "in the bucket".

Here is broad overview of map, any thoughts or comments are welcome.

I am new to the terrain editor and I just have a question.  How did you get all that terrain into the Terrain Editor?  It would take me forever to do that by Select and Set Type.  Also, how do you get the detail in the edges?

Well, as far as the map goes, I think it is a neat idea, but it can't be to scale, since the biggest map size is 512m x 512m.  Still it might be fun to battle for continents, even if they are small versions of them.

Maybe you can use a smaller section of the globe to make it easier to divide up the land between Bish, Knight and Rook.  Well, good luck, let us all see it when you get done.

use the 'search help' here in the forum., that question gets asked a lot.

try keyword 'build a terrain'
