To place Objects to the Center of a Grid Box you first need to make sure that the SNAP box is checked, and that the SNAP SPACING is set as 2640.
Now when ever you Left or Right click the mouse button ( while in Objects Mode ) the Red Cross will always goto to the Center or on the White Line of a Grid Box.
........... every Red Cross movement is 2640 ft

Now click on the center of your Grid Box and Add Shape/Group

This will place the Group exactly as it was when it was Saved.

If it wasn't centered when it was saved, it then won't be centered when it is placed.

This is a sample I had put together to try and explain what I do to center an uncentered Field.
I'm not always good at putting instructions to words so if this doesn't help ask again.

P.S  As for saving a Group that you have just Built and/or Centered.

When in the Objects mode.........

1) Checkmark GRID box.

2) Checkmark SNAP box.

3) Make sure that the SNAP SPACING is set as 2640

4) Select the entire Group using Left Mouse Button ( all shapes now will have Red highlites )

5) Right Click Mouse Button to the Center of the Grid Box ( with the Highlited Shapes).

You now will see the RED CROSS in the center of your Grid Box ( with the Highlited Shapes).   Thats good!

6) Now click Save Shape Group

7) Enter the Group Name you want in the box, and click ok.

You'll need to exit the TE and then restart it to be able to see your new Shape Group.
