He's right too.

Sometimes Dave Barry actually lives up to his rep.

This is definitely one of those times.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Its nice to see the BBS come to gether and realize the true worth of government.  This crap transcends parties.  It makes you realize that the only real difference between the two parties is what people they give all our money too.  And I got news for ya... neither give it back to us.

Yes there is a "war on tobacco".  And just like the "war on poverty" and "war on drugs" and the various other "wars", it mostly seems to involve taking you money away so that you don't hurt yourself with it.

The U.S. Gov.  is Responsible for most men addicted to  cigarettes. In ww2 They would put Cigarettes in with C-rations. a man would get Cigarettes when ever resupplies came.

My father Flew in WW2 nd Korea. Lived thru both wars. Died to lung cancer. Doctor told him after first lung removed" Stop smoking you could live 5 to 10 years more".  year later on his last day on earth, He looked up and last words I ever heard from him were " Guess I shouldv'e Stoped smoking" I'm still Pissed to this day that he never Got to see his grandson Who can't get to know him by reading his diary.

So Please if you smoke STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! If Not for your life, do it
for those around you who have to watch you wilt away.

Hey Hooly glad to see your still around.

The article is correct the amount of tax on cigarrettes is appaling, paid $6 for my pack this morning. When I started smoking 11 years ago packs we $2, all this extra tax is so the government can make some extra cash. "They" will never make smoking illegal, and they are not stupid enough to make alcohol illegal either. They make too much money off of smokers, I figure the government makes at least $1,100 a year off of me for smoking.

BASTARDS.

Hey Hooly when is the next get together, must go to the range again.
