Think your ire would better aimed at AH Staff.  The server should not puke just because we have a large goon drop.  The problem should be fixed... and not have us name calling because of the symptoms.

One flier's opinion.... who just happens to think a product should work correctly... not have to "fly around it".

That's hilarious!  I would've loved to have been one of those goons doing the dropping.  That many chutes in one spot would've been a classic film.

I wonder what would've happened if it had been all M3s...

And, oh yeah, if a server can't handl 10 C47s, then the server or the game should be "corrected". You shouldn't blame a choking server on a squad's mission night.

Unfortunately, the film view only shows your troops dropping.  You have to do screen shots to "capture the moment".  Historically, Knights do this on special occasions like January 1st :D.  We only got 20 goons in our "Cry of the Valkries" mission this year.  Last year we had a record setting 48.

I think that was a pretty cool mission idea.  Too bad the game hardware couldn't handle it.  Reminds me of a similar mission that happened back in the early Air Warrior sim when a squad upped a bunch of B-17s and bombed an airfield, which had the secondary effect of revealing a bug in the AW software code.

You're way off, Pfunk. The goon drop had nothing to do with it.

I spoke to Skuzzy last week, and was kidding around with him about the 48 Goon drop we did a few weeks back. I apologized for it, and he said "It's not bad. It helped us find a weakspot in our server". (Of course I am paraphrasing)

He said himself, this thing should not happen with 48 goons, Much less 10!

I promised him we would not do it again, and he said it did not matter as the server would not crash because of this.

So you might want to check with HTC about the causation of the crash, before accusing people.

I have to agree with the 81st on this funk. When you have the Festers of the world buzzing around in a 262 shooting any goon that comes near, it makes sense to send ten goons to make sure you are able to get the drop and get 10 troops in the map room, instead of sending one at a time to it's slaughter.

How about over whelming base capture. You do not have to kill a town or the base, just drop 200 paradrunks to capture the town. makes a nice sneak raid. However you better kill the ack first.
All troops would have to enter the map room to capture. if only one gets killed then no capture.
