Yes, IJN had ''underwater-CV'' plans.
forexample....
I-400 class ''underwater-CV'' submarines could bring 3 ''Seiran''special torpedo attacker/dive bombers.
This plane could bring 1 800kg torpedo or 1 800kg bomb.

Well..reason I guessed italion was the shape of the engine cowling..

that was a good one, i had no idea. my other guesses would have been Curtiss F6C-4 or Fokker C-XIV-W, but none of them had allthe characteristics of the plane you posted...found a lot of neat pix surfing the web looking for a plane that looked like "Name This...(403)"....

I like these price-quizes of you Brady! at 9 of the 10 pics I dont know what plane/boat/tank it really is, but it's really fun though.
