Just curious about this and yes I know it should probably be asked in the 'History' section but I thought someone might pop in here and answer easier than down there.

I don't recall ever seeing a reference to it but I could be wrong and might not be looking in the right way. But I have tried all of the different combinations and searching the web for many hours on this. I was thinking that the Naval Aviation Museum down in Pensacola might know but I was not sure.

If anyone has an idea please let me know.

Tour 30 I had over 180 hours online, but that was an extream month, I gues you might say I average 100 hours a month between the CT and the MA, although it has been much less lately I am disalushed with AH a wee bit at present and trying not to fly much in the hopes I might recover.:) The CT keeps me busy and my other Online intrest's IL-2 and WW2 online, Pluss Uncommon Valor at present is realy Fun.

Thanks Brady. As for looking for Japanese "wings" it is for my squadron members when they do their carrier qualifications in IJN aircraft.

Yeah being a "Blue Plane Squadron" is much different than being in a Luftwaffe squadron like I was for so long. But things change and squadrons move on in separate ways.

Yes thank you Bodhi. Is it ok to use them for a carrier qualification award on the website or do I need to give the image a copyright note? Just curious since I am doing that for some of the other stuff on the site as well to cover my butt.

You can use it as you choose but photo coutesy needs to go to NPAWC, thats all.  I actually took it, but, it belongs to my employer.  Unfortunately very little is known about the owned, and the badge recently surfaced, so have not had time to have the pilot's name (engraved on back) checked out, as it is in Japanese.  When I am next at the storage facility, I will pull it out and take a photo of the reverse side if you like.

Also, check this one out, it is Galland's from the Battle of Britain.
