Reminds me of my childhood in alot of ways actually. How I ever survived is a bloody wonder.
Ur not kidding. When I was growing up, my family and I used to go up to Ely Minnesota (where my dad grew up). My cousin and I spent our time jumping our bikes. One year, we got the bright idea to set the jump up at the bottom of Finn hill.
Finn Hill has got about 300 foot vertical over about 90-100 feet horizontal. Its a helluva grade. Well, we walked the bikes up the hill (it was too steep to pedal up) and away we went.
I coasted down the hill, my cousin, pedaled also so he hit the jump first AND considerably faster. Nevertheless, neither one of us landed upright. Luckily, we we young, loose and didn't get seriously hurt.
A couple of years ago while visiting up there (older and wiser) I tried it again, this time, with no jump at the bottom just to see how fast I was really going. At the bottom of the hill, I topped out just under 35 MPH. There was someone looking out for us that day
