Classic.

That looks like salt water, so that SUV is totalled.  The story the guy makes to the insurance company would be great reading.

I'm betting it was algae on the ramp...I had a scare once with my truck down at the Redondo ramp in Federal Way, WA. due to algae on the ramp, I didn't floor it, I let OFF on the accelerator so that traction would grip (Growing up around snow helps you in situations like this ;) )

a couple years ago, I watched a Toyota launch a boat where we fish in Eastern WA, do the same thing. First, I warned him.."Launch over here, that area is too steep and you'll get stuck in the soft sand..." Advice falls on deaf ears. He launches anyway. Trying to get out, he buries the rear end deeper, deeper, pretty soon water is coming in the passenger door, 1/2 the truck is submerged. Then the guy had the BALLS to ask me for a tow out. I handed him my cell phone..."Call a tow truck, pal".

LMAO....that's a riot.I almost feel sorry for him.

As a boat owner,it never ceases to amaze me what people do at a boat ramp,or how long it takes some clown to put his Bayliner in the water....as long as ten minutes at times.

AOL? Whats that?

If I told you where I got them, then I'd have to exterminate you.

When I vacation at my favorite ski lake our evening entertainment is watching the boozers try and recover their boats at the ramp.

A bunch of locals line up lawn chairs and hold up olympic type score cards for each recovery...it's a fun way of finishing off a day on the lake :)

 LOL-agreed.

I usually dock mine, but when I don't I have it yanked out in less then a minute.

My favorite is at my lake where I dock, and I see a storm rolling in...they ALWAYS wait until the last second(usually when it's thundering and you see lightning in the distance)to get back to the ramp.

I drop anchor, and watch the chaos as 40+ boats all try to pull out at the same time.

Great fun. :D

This sinking occured at Bullards Bar. The pic was taken after we'd worked for an hour to get it close to shore- this one kinda messed up the electronics.

One of the lakes I go to is very popular with the college spring breakers, at times there'll be 200-300 boats tied up together having a party. To get to this party spot they all have to pass through the Naciemento Narrows. The wake chop can get up to 5-6 feet when busy since the speed limit at that point is still unlimited.

I've seen atleast a dozen ski boats like yours in the same situation...nothin' but a bit of the bow poking outa the water. It's sad to laugh at others bad luck but in the Narrows, when this happens, I let go with my laughter because of the stupidity of bringing a boat that has only 10" of freeboard into a situation where they have to face 4-6 ft chop...'tis Darwin's theory illustrated in it's finest :)
