Well, it seems we have a trend here. I didn't care too much until last night when I was trying to kill a P-38. I shot him at one point and he vanished making me think I got a pilot kill. No sooner had I turned off did I look back and see him turning into me with guns blazing.

I hope HTC has seen this thread and is going to fix it :)

I have noticed this a few times myself but usually  when I am down low to the deck and closing on his six.   The biggest problem I have noticed is the Icon for the E/A disappears while every friendly aircraft shows up.   I can see the plane, just no icon.   Other times the plane just ups and disappears.   I think it really does have to do with the connection at the time it disappears.    Not the server but rather the route which the information has to travel.   Maybe because the lower to the ground you get the more information that is needed to update the screen information.   How ever the disappearing icons may be caused friendly aircraft are getting priority in the updates or may have to do with the object limits in the game itself.

The only time I ever see this is when there are 15+ friendly aircraft in one sector and only a few E/A.  Only way to know for sure is to run a ping type program that will keep a record of your connection while on line.   If it shows a spike then that might prove to be the problem, and show that there is a choke point some where along the line common to many players.  Otherwise it could be the server or a flaw in the game.

I don't think that the disappearing planes is a cheat or exploit IMHO.  As Jonnyb pointed out he could still see the aircraft because he had altitude.   Everyone else low to the deck saw the plane disappear.   It's just to random from my point of view.  If enough data is recorded and turns out to be on HTC's end then that data will help them find and cure the problem, but they have to know where to start to fix it.

It,s gaming the game Midnight.

Have a squaddie behind you about 1d out just so's they can see clearly, then take a screen shot.

He'll most likely see ya dissapear for a few seconds.

I dunno.. happened to myself as well.. flying with a squad mate..we both had good net status acording to AH net button.  Nice flat lines with no spikes.  Theres something funky going on...may be the reason they have the scoring thing turned off.

Yep...seen it many times in MA and once in a duel.  Last night a squadmate reported that a 109 had disappeared, but I saw it clear as day.  Good to know I'm not alone and this just isnt me.

Happened to me just an hour ago.  I was on the ground at 15 in a GV, then all of a sudden Maxtor disappeared.  I asked him where he went and he was still there.  Sure enough about 5 seconds later he was in the same exact spot.  I have film of it BTW.

It's happened to me quite a few times.  Both in traffic and 1 on 1.  So far I can discern no pattern to it.

It's been a long time since I have seen a plane warp at close range.

I've not noticed anything like this. Warpage has gone down for me this release.

It’s not really a warp though and I never had problems with that other than the normal during a big furball.

They disappear completely, no icon, no silhouette, nothing.  After a few seconds they reappear.  Someone said they had film of it.  If you do, mark the time down and send it to HTC.  I wasn’t recording at the time and didn’t think to turn it on, I just thought it was a temporary funky not a bug funky.

Was on last night and didn’t have a problem.

Still wonder how come AH doesn't flag planes about to warp or zoom to the eternity.
