I highly recommend " 84 Charlie Mopic", which takes place in the Vietnam War. Its filmed in entirely in 3rd person, from the perspective of an Army motion picture photographer who accompanies a LERP patrol to film Lessons Learned. Very poignant, outstanding, intense and violent action. Some of the best filmed and realistic firefights.

LOL just kidding - some of my favorites are Dawn Patrol (the version w/ David Niven), Cross of Iron (i'm pretty convinced this movie insprired Platoon), Come & See (russian movie about partisan fighting behind the front lines)...best of all - The Fighting Lady

Not a "REAL" war movie per se, but I enjoyed Red Dawn a great deal. I also love a Bridge Too Far.

Saw "Cross of Iron" for 29 bucks on DVD.. was reluctant to buy it.., sounds like a must have now..   I ended up grabbing "Stalingrad" instead.

Sunking - I just finished reading 'Cross of Iron' by Willi Heinrich. Considering it was a translation from the German, it's an impressive read, and I'm gonna get the DVD soon.
