McCain was found to be up to his neck in illegal $$ during the fallout of the S&L scandal. he may have reformed his image amongst people w/ short memories or who weren't paying attention. Dole...maybe before the facelift, viagra ads & letting his wife run for senate in NC

Possibly we may be confused as to the definition of a 'politician'. A politician by nature will be involved in the political shenananigans of being a politican.. an 'Honest' politican is one that once he has accepted his mandate, remains true to it.

Dole and McCain are 'honest' politicans.

Honest ........... politician ................Honest ............Politician....... ....

No - doesn't seem to work for me.  Try to type the words close together but they keep springing apart like similar poles of a magnet.

Bit like truth and politicians - you can't get the two to occupy the same place.

However  ......MoneyPoliticians ..............MonPoliticianse y - NOW THAT WORKS. :D

are you a democrat or republican?.. lol thats like asking are you a hic or are you a hic? theyre are more parties out there that need support ..they just dont have the money and the ppl obviously bcuz you guys and me pay money to repubs and demos by law TAXES.. anyway i hope some of you take some time to learn about some other parties that are actually different from the two big brothers who obviously have shown over the many years they cant get the job done. im a libertarian and respect many of the members of that party and always vote for them (although it dosent seem like it makes a diff bcuz you know who always wins) lets break this trend plz! i hope for once in my life i wont be controlled by the hics or the hics.

Whgates.. possibly you may be confusing McCains introduction of a bill with Sen Bradley some time back on campaign finance reform. It's apparent he's not any more enamored of the political hopscotch that a politican must play with campaigin contributors than we are.

Just because his campaigns in the past accepted questionalble financing doesn't make him dishonest.. it just keeps him a successful polititcan. Introducing legislation to cap, limit and make the recieving politican accountable for the proceeds makes him an 'honest' politican.

When you went to school did you accept scholarship moneys? Does that make you a dishonest student,. or a sell-out?

Bill and Hillary Clinton.

We know they are cheats liars and money grubbers, we all know this to be true so they are honest in our eyes because we know what they really are!

Carter was honest, and I respect him for that despite not sharing his politics.

Dick Luger (R, IN) is a straight shooter. (Pun very much intended)

I like Alan Keyes, he seems to make sense. Honest, I dunno.

I have a few friends locally that are in various positions, but you wouldn't know them if I named them.

the only reason mccain was even a contender in the primaries was be cause of his work in capaign finance legislation. i assume he got involved with that type of legislation because he knew he could then campaign as mr. clean and paint everyone else as corrupt, knowing that the vast majority of voters would either not remember what he was doing a decade before (bullying investigators to stop looking into how charles keating&neil bush were bilking small investors & eventually taxpayers), or had not heard of it to begin with).  the campaign finance reform bill he passed is a sham. full of loopholes he knew would appear in the final legislation. if he was really so concerned with clean campaign finance he'd be embarassed to have his name on that bill, not proud. anyone with half a brain could come up with a bribe free camaign finance system in a few minutes if the think hard about it....when i went to school i worked a full time job. took a year off after freshman year to make $$ to pay for school too - some clever investments & i didnt have to work full time senior year (both of 'em)

He just pardoned everyone from death row to life in prison, and he just released 4 people with full pardons, and ALL 4 were convicted and proved guilty of murder.  But Ryan released them right before he left office.
