Just a reminder about jb79

Well,
That explains alot if he is indeed DLAMBA.  I must say however after feeling the full frontal assault from the DLAMBA persona ....the JB79 is a bit tamer!  Perhaps he has learned a bit about how to deal with people.

I have been up in the day the past week or so and to be honest, JB79 is pretty good about giving SITREPS, Check6's, and generally helping out the cause.

If he has learned how to play well with others then I vote we give him a third chance.

Remember he's not as "mature" as most of us are...<----read sarcasm here.

I do however agree with the JB squadron.  He needs to stop posting using their signature block.  That is wrong.

AND until he does so.....my tolerance level for him drops and drops.

SO JABO79....please use your own signature block....keep flying nice....dont bash up guys....try to find a niche in the game and stick with it.....and guys will soon forget that you harrassed the hell out of them and will begin to respect you for the good pilot you are.  Until then though....dont expect to be treated fairly.

Look, I know it's hard, but most of you are fat, balding, middle aged men and dLamba/JB79 is an over enthusiastic youngster. < I hope you all are laughing  =o[ >

Think back to your playground days. There was always the kid who wasn't accepted (probably couldn't play well or was too young) who would grab the ball and run away. This sounds like JB79.

On the playground some may have thrown rocks at him, but you old farts should know how to best treat a young guy. I've seen how some say some pretty lewd things to him. I think that's pretty counter productive.

He seems to want to do well. He is very good at calling out contacts and check sixes, and enthusiastic to work with the group. Some here have said he's a pretty good stick. But he sure does chatter a lot!

I don't think you can blame him much for his misconduct and language. Look what he has for an example. He probably doesn't appreciate that the gutter talk on C#1 isn't the accepted way to behave. Perhaps he does this to fit in with you big kids.

I hope the community will take him under their wing and show him the right way. Of course it takes patience, and there will always be jerks out there hounding him, but I think some positive reinforcement may show him that dignaty, self respect, and honor will gain him the respect of those who matter, the vast majority of the AH community.

Hang in there dLamba, do the right things and make this ol' grampa bear proud.

I think this may just be the obvious result of not letting kids beat the toejam out of other kids any more.

Back when I was a ....

If you threw an apple at a car and the brake lights came on, you ran your bellybutton off.

Now they just stand there and flip you off, while their father starts dialing their lawyer.

Wow Grizzly You hit nail on Head couldn't agree more. Have had a private talk with him.  hope he listened well. His only chance at being acepted is changing his name and saying off channel 1.

And only bust you friends our yourself. IF you can't make fun of yourself then you shouldn't do it at all.

JB79 isn't THAT bad, I mean hes not Sadamn Hussain or something.  He's just a kid having fun online, I think we need to keep this in perspective?  I don't like it when anyone trys to run off a player, that just isn't right.

I will admit, I did think JB79 was part of the JB's for a while - and I guess he really was for a time (a lesson on recruitment practices here somewhere).

Now I think everyone is pretty well straight on this now.  I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over this.

No problem man....we had a "sauna" this weekend and discussed the issue (no, there wasn't any strap-ons present).

If a former squaddie was misbehaving and bring the squad into disrepute we would probably post a similar "be advised" thread.

I have been disciplined for my uncaring and thoughtless post here. (No soup for me...one year).

If you read the thread, you'd see that everyone already knows that.

This will sound like an "Old Git" complaint, but here goes: If I behaved at 13 years of age the way jb79 does, SOMEONE (likely the nearest adult in range) would have smacked me one AND removed privileges, such as access to the tools necessary to participate in my hobby.

Using the excuse he is "just a kid" is ignoring the responsibility we all have to educate kids about just what sort of behaviour is acceptable and what is not. Letting slide because he is a kid is missing the point. IMO of course.
