This is a nice little mod for EA's F12002. Perhaps not quite as large as the excellent GT2002 mod but it makes for a fun diversion. You can download the mod here at their web-site take a look at these nice screenshots:

Why does this game look like toejame on my puter? Highest graphical setting and graphics look more dated than Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed.

I guess they've reused the 1999 based graphical engine.

Game isn't nearly as good as GPL. Physics feel unreal even on highest difficulty setting.

Maybe the cars are more fun.

gofaster> It has it's own installer in the download it's as easy as that. It does'nt modify any files so you can still play the original F1 2002 if you like. It has it's own file to start the whole mod you just have to make your own shortcut to your desktop..that's the only hardship

It also happily lives alongside the GT2002 add-on which is also fantastic.

This is'nt about what's best GPL or F12002 just alertign those race fans that have F12002 that this mod is available. The cars do handle differently and the GT2002 is another great add-on that maybe you should try as the cars do behave very differently.

Santa have you tried FSAA?

I agree GPL is the best, the mods for f1-2002 are fun though, there is also a file you can editing to get super-realism settings.

narsus, no, my puter is too small for FSAA.

If I get that job as a technical draft writer, they'll provide me with a new laptop and desktop. Then I'll try FSAA. I just think that the graphics engine isn't particularly good and looks more than a little dated.

It's sort of like Grand Prix 3. Huge disappointment. Same engine as GP2, basically. Same code underneath too - exactly the same feel. I'm becoming wary of these 1, 2, 3 titles, seems developers take huge shortcuts.

Mmmm yummy laptop.

Well to put it in perspective, I have been playing GPL now for about 3 years and it is still just has fun and challenging now as it was then. I have all the graphics add-ons, but even if I didn't I would still drive. Good physics and gameplay are all important to me.

But seriously give the F1-2002 mods a try there are some extremely good ones out there, many are better than the original game.
