the russian space shuttle (Buran) has auto landing feature and their shuttle can still be landed safely with winds up to 30 mph

that wind looke like alot more than 30mph ... anyone read that info @ the end.. IE wind conditions and such?

Yeah you can see he's got it crabbed so much that the nose is actually pointing to the left of the camera.  Also you can see a lot of debris flying in the foreground.  Must have been a heck of a storm.

Heh.

In the opening credits it reads "Um grand susto," or A big scare/fright.

Around Christmas Portugal experienced a lot of wind storms, they even managed to destroy housing in some areas. But I don't know the exact details of this flight.

with a boeing the pilot can over-ride the computer,with a airbus the pilot cannot.

Hey Bob.. can we go around for a second pass.. that cross wind was too easy!  Figure the cross wind to be at least 50mph.. maybe more..  I wouldn't want to try it.... Unless I was paid well :D  Oh, and I had an ejection seat!!
