Exciting times ahead for the flightsim pilot. IL-2 will launch its "Forgotten Battles" in
february. Warbirds 2.77 and Warbirds III can be played on eurobased servers in
Germany soon. Low pings for sure and many are looking forward to this new playground
so close near our homes. Aces High deploys update after update. Their servers
are more crowded than ever. HTC is doing a hell-of-a-job! WW2OL takes it step
by step, but the future looks bright, especially for the pilots. Better damage and
flightmodels are on the to-do lists. Events will play a major role in building a mature
community for the sim as well. And last but certainly not least a new flightsim based
in the PTO will go open beta. Ofcourse I am talking about Target:Rabaul, I'm pretty
confident we will see many Euro pilots flying Corsairs, Zero's and Emily's in the
ConroomBut no matter what game we play, we all share a passion for ww2 aviation and
air-combat. This 'thing' we have in common is beyond the game we play. And
there's nothing more enjoyable than meet your virtual friends and enemies face
to face... in real life... Scary thought
huh? Its for the third time in a row that the 1st.ROF Dutch squadron organises the
Euro-Convention. A couple of days filled with playing, discussing games, advanced
combat maneouvres; with one hand in the air visualising that killer-ace move and
a beer in the other.
Its this relaxing character of the EuroCon which made it 'famous'. An event you
just have to attend. And we, the Orange Dweebs have so much fun organising it
all for you. We are working hard to create yet again a great program for ya,
the Euro-Cart championships ofcourse, the 2v2 duels, and a few new things
are being added to the schedule. Which will ofcourse be announced when the
time is ripe. This year the EuroCon will be in April, excact date is TBA. Probably
one day longer (arrival on thursday) and for the same price as you payed last
year. But on a different location. The management from the former location
of the EuroCon in Driebergen asked way too much money, which will result in
spending less money for beer. And that
ofcourse may
never happen

Well, this is just a brief note to make you aware we are on full throttle and
finalizing the preparations needed to organise this 4 day event. I will post
the definite schedule, location, EuroCon fee and dates by the end of january,
after the Finnish Convention and ofcourse the new website will go live around
the same time.
Fly safe, and don't plan anything important in April this year
