'War in a stringbag' Charles Lamb. Quite an interesting read epsecially with concerns as to how effective these aircraft (Fairey swordfish) could be.These pilots and crew were extremely brave.great insight into the early stages of WW2.The author was involved in many of the biggest events and takes you through them with him.great read.

Combat legend Focke-wulfFW-190' peter caygill. 2nd book i have in the series(P51 was 1st) and its quite an excellent book.Lots of info and excellent pictures, many i have never seen in any other book. Some good information on tactics and weapons.

'War prizes' phil Butler. Very disappointed with this book.Basically a list of all the captured aircraft(including italian, german and japanese) and short histories of where they ended up.I suppose a good book if you want to know where to find these models but basically useless as a good read.really dissapointed with this one and it was very expensive too.Avoid

'Panzer battles' Maj. Gen. F.W.Von Mellenthin. 'The book on general schwarzkopfs desk in the gulf' according to the cover. So far its been a fantastic read.Really informative without losing the reader in too much technical jargon.Respectful of history and quite fascinating. The story of the battles in North Africa have been a real eye opener.Definately worth a look this one.

war in a stringbag is a fantastic book - amazing, since the plane is seemingly so boring - especially liked the paramythia bit...
