Terror, this is where Skuzzy works. How would we like it if the HTC gang went into YOUR workplace and started claiming the Big Macs were made with horse meat and they saw you picking your nose while working the deep fat fryer? Would you tolorate that or after a time would you ask the assistant manager to make them leave?? ;)

No usually a good manager will apologize for the poor food service and try and make it up to the customer.  Usually by a free meal and future consessions.  (ie. gift certificates or free desserts.)  It's called Customer Service.  A restaurant that throws out a complaining customer will soon come to have no customers.

Dealing with complaints by forcibly removing the complaintant just leads to bad PR and lack of customer confidence.  Especially if the complaintant is being civil and not being rude or abusive.

In HTC's case being very verbose and public about why the problems or suggestions were not being handled as the banned user wanted would have probably handled the situation without banning having to be a final solution.

Ya know ...  a suggestion ... Why not a "FAQ" that covers many of the repeated problem/suggestion areas, would problably help the frustrations that many of the more vocal complainers have.  It would have to have detailed explanations, but could solve some of the excalating issues on the boards.

Warned?   Steve posted about his frustrations with server lag during reset.  While there were at least 3 obscenities in it, it threatened no one nor did it insult anyone... it was a rant, nothing more.  Steve didn't get warned, he was immediately banned from the boards, without notice.  Skuzzy posted that it was abusive.  Bottom line is that while this certainly isn't a democracy, one should be able to post either dissenting or negative remarks without fear of being banished by the hyper-sensitive folk at HTC.  Compared to other online boards, including flight sims past and present, this board is pretty darned mild. The difference is, the moderators of the other boards are not milktoast pantywaists.

If you cannot post without being abusive, then you do not belong on this board.

If you cannot register a complaint without being abusive, you do not belong on this board.

There is no reason, not one, for anyone to be abusive in posting anything on this board.  Abusive language serves no purpose.  It will never serve a purpose no matter how you rationalize it.
