I have been playing Aces Hgh for 2 days now and have logged over 10 hours of flying. I have played most flight Sim games and have flown in the online game, Fighter Ace (FA) for more than 4 years.  In addition, I have flown in WWII Online for several months.  Of all the Flight Sim games Online, this is by far the BEST!

I have found most people very willing to help the newbies out, by answering all the "dumb" questions we ask.  I don't see the whining and bad-mouthing that is so prevelant in FA and the flight models are far superior to WWII On-line.

I joined a mission for the first time on Day 1 and was extremely impressed and had the time of my life.  While I missed my target with my 1st Bomb Drop in this game, I was able to shoot down 2 enemy planes and get 2 assists besides.

Thanks to all who have made this a very pleasant experience!  I hope to be around for a good while!   I only hope that I can learn to fly and fight better.

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!
It won't take long before you notice the whining and badmouthing. Be sure to have your radio tuned to channel 1!:D
All kidding aside, AH has quite a tight knit community beyond all the trash talk and toad slinging. You will really notice it the first time one of us dies in Real Life. Everyone really pulls together, even if only for a short time.
Good to have you flying w/us.

HAVE FUN!! And that's an ORDER!

10 hours? not bad! My wife was out of town when I found this game by accident... I came from Graphic Simulations F-18 for the last 7 years..

Try this out for a first time...

Wife out of town, all alone, "opportunity knocking for most people" aka have a good time while shes gone..LOL

and what do i do? download this game, and log 17 hours in one day, ordered 2 pizzas and got shot down about 1billiontrillion times....LOL:D

Welcome aboard, and glad to see you! This is about the greatest Flight sim ever!

welcome

Welcome Wire!!!

You will find some bad attitudes on AH, but the mass majority of players are pretty good people!

Always check your ego in at the coat room and have fun!!  Things are good here in Aces High.

Take alittle time to find a squad you are compatible with.  Being part of a squad will increase your fun ten fold!

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

WELCOME to the game I like to call "LIQUID CRACK"!!!!

You will find yourself making every effort to fly at every single opportunity...just dont let work or school suffer.  I stopped my Master's Degree 5 years ago while flying AW ( another flight sim but it got cancelled and our squadron moved here!)...got all the way to my graduate research project and decided Air Warrior took priority.....DONT DO THAT. (By the way got readmitted this week so I will be able to finish it up here in a month!:D )

The game is full of great people ranging from all walks of life and job areas.  Our squadron's youngest member is 13 and our oldest is 74.  Hawk1 is a former fighter pilot from Korea and Vietnam.  Others like myself fly in the USAF on active duty.  We have a pilot from Hawaii who used to fly F14s in the Navy.  Some paramedics, web guys, optician, etc you name it our squadron has it.

Bottom line is HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!  If you need help just ask...most people are more than willing to help out.  You might get guys that tell you to read the manual/help file online before you ask.  Do yourself a favor and give it a glance.  You can learn alot.  But by all means ASK for help.  We were all newbies once.  If you need help and any of the TIGER Squadron (rooks) is up we will help you in any way we can.

Take care and cya in the air!

:D
