The WWII arena is a good thing,

IMO, it shows many pilots hunger for more historical match ups. But as usual, the boys can't play nice, and screaming began right away. These are fantasy arenas. The only time these sims enjoy realistic combat are in scenarios. Beware of ruining AH's fun factor. Adding rules to any main arena will just bring whining about balance.

In the next month we should see the terrain editor's arrival. Players can then setup more realistic scenarios and see if folks will play them. I hope they do.

I think we would have less problem with balancing the numbers over here than in WB.  AH players are much more evenly distributed around the globe, so I doubt there would be such an overload of players who wish only to fly US planes.

Good point about the bombers Westy.  Of course the only thing that makes the bombers so unbalancing is their ability to drop bombs on point targets, something they could not do in WW2.  Put a realistic Norden model on the BUFFs, add some wind and turbulence, add some aerodynamic drag on the bombs (there is none in either sim AFAIK) and the BUFFs are not so effective for field capture unless you can get an extremely large formation together.

We would need the following units to round out the available Allied and Axis forces:

Axis
Ju52 (Axis aerial troop transport)
German APC Halftrack (Axis ground based troop transport)
H8K2 "Emily" (Heavily armed, tough heavy bomber with a decent payload)
He177 (Another Axis heavy bomber, to counter the Allied B-17G and Lancaster)
Fw190F Series (Axis anti-tank fighter)
Fw190D-9 (High performance Axis fighter)
Ki84 (High performance Axis fighter)

Allies
T-34/76 (Allied tank comparable to the PnZ IV)

If we could get those, I would      LOVE     to see a Axis vs. Allied environment.
