My company makes an anti-spam component, and we spoke w/ Hormel legal about proper use of the word.

Spam is the canned meat.  

spam, on the other hand, is the e-mail stuff we all get loads of.  If you use the capital S to describe unsolitited commercial email anywhere then the beginning of the sentence, then you're opening yourself up to lawsuit.

god, i guess my english teacher was serrious when she said that using no capital letters would get you into trouble.
