F6F-5 Tips suggestions anything for a newbie
« on: January 20, 2003, 05:08:42 AM »
Basically the title says it all. I have played Aces High off and on for a couple years. Never real serious due to that bad thing called Real Life. Well after messing around with several rides I think I may of found one. The others I like is the P-38 and the G10. But the F6F-5 seems like a very solid ride. I really like the fact it climbs well even with a bomb load. I also like the fact it seems like given some time learning the girl it could be a very solid dog fighter.

What I am looking for is some tips on this bird. What alt to work with, how do you fight against the main planes in the MA. - Spit - La7 - Niki

What do you guys like using this thing for. What are its best roles and is this a good plane to use if you are not experianced but you don't need to use a La7 to get kills?

Thanks Guys.

and no slam on La7. Everyone else does it I guess I gotta. :D

Ahhh another F6F devotee, welcome. :)

I'm not nearly as accomplished as some other people around here (;))  but I've got some time in the hellcat, if you see me online feel free to pass along any questions you might have.  If I'm not in the process of getting my hiney shot off I'll do my best to help.

Don't let Soul's modesty convince you he isn't that good.  He is pretty damn slick in the Hellcat when he gets on a roll.

Also, if you see me online, feel free to ask some questions about the F6F.  I am always willing to help those that would like some help with the kitty.

Altec, If you decide to join a squad in the CT (and I suggest you do) look up VF-27 HELLCATS, my old squad.

Their main bird is the F6F "Kitty" and you will find many expert pilots to help you get up to speed in the Hellcat.

The best advice I can give about the F6 is stay away from Mathman when he's flying one.
