When I see people burn out it's usually a certain player "type"..
I don't mean this in a bad way at all, it's just an observation from over the hill and here.
The majority of burnouts tend to be players that take all this somewhat seriously.
In that I mean is, that for this type of player, there must be a purpose. Whether it is to take bases, recreate a battle, win the war etc.
Frustration and/or boredom comes in when the wars have been won, the bases have been taken and it all becomes samo...samo day in and day out.
As it progresses it becomes something like Ramsey has suggested
hmm Hardcore settings for one arena?
No icons, no map, no radar, full reality?
If THIS can be done I'll have the fun again. It was done over the hill. Had it's very own arena and the census hovered at four or five.
What happened with this experiment ?? With the exception of one of the proponents NONE fly anymore.
It's all in a persons makeup. We're all different. I'm the other type of player.
I've been playing a long time. There is no purpose. I get together with friends and kill stuff. EVERY fight is different, every fight is a new challenge.
Don't make more of it than it is. It's fun with friends, and every night is different.
All these old farts I fly with have been at it a whole lot longer than I have, but they have the passion. We have fun, we fly, we kill people.
Wldthing and Rude and a quite a few "oldtimers" have the same philooooossssshphy

There isn't anything better than that.
The "purpose" is to kill people and have a laugh while doing it.
It never approaches samo...samo for every night is different.
