I used to play doctor with the girls next door, so I never felt the need to burn anything.

If you want to avoid getting into trouble because you're playing with matches, always remember to protect your eyebrows.

Once, made a pile out of the innards of some firecrackers I found on the ground with no fuses.  Tried a few times to light it with a match.  Finally, I leaned way over to look really close, to try to get the pile to light.  Of course it went, and I lost my eyebrows which tipped mom off to what I was up to.  I also inhaled a bunch of smoke, and was in bed sick the rest of the day.

Another time, much later in life.  I went on a smoke break with a guy I didn't know very well.  I was trying to get my cigarette lit, but it was windy, so I was having trouble.  The guy pulls out this Bic lighter (one of the adjustable flame ones).  I put the cigarette in my mouth, cupped my hands around the lighter, flicked it, and lost one of my eyebrows.  The love muffin had "adjusted" the lighter to turn it into a blowtorch.  I was pissed.  My boss asked why I had no eyebrow (only lost one that time).  It was a bit of time before I grew it back, and every now and then someone had the balls to ask what had happened to my eyebrow.

GI joes filled with powder.

spend 2 days building a big 'frontier fort' out of popsicle sticks.  fill it with little plastic cowboys.  flick matches to simulate 'flaming arrows'.  burn it down in 5 minutes.

Ok so me and my buddy are BBQing steaks on the tail gate of his dads old truck in the drive way...

We get done and decide to take a 2 liter bottle and half fill it with lighter fluid and toss it on the grill.

We do and it does not do what we thought it would it just melts then tips over and pours the fluid in the truck bed, and THEN lights! lol

The whole bed is ablaze and my buddy is freaking! I am on the lawn laughing so hard I can move, when I finally can I crawl over to the hose and put it out... No damage done.

Firecrackers (blackcats, back when they could blow a finger off) and Revell plastic models.

WMD's.  Find Red Ant hill that opens in an asphalt driveway or parking lot.  Pour lighter fluid or gasoline down the entrance.  Stuff pop bottle rocket or blackcat in the entrance, light a slow fuze and run.

Results would leave the blacktop looking like a Nevada underground test.

oh ya.. back in the 70's you could get really wicked firecrackers.. dad would buy a boatload every year (as he was just as much a kid as we were in this regard)..so we would have firecrackers all year round..he's the one who showed us to slide one in a snowball in the winter and during a snowball fight you would have snow grenade.. so we had lots to play with and we would cut them open and harvest the flash powder till we had cups of the stuff. then re-engineer our own little bombs and napalm (take gasoline and then dump in a bunch of packing peanuts till no more would melt and then you had a flammable goo) then it was out  to the vacant lot for a little vietnam war with the toy soldiers.
