I don't have a gun cause I am afraid of the kids finding it. But owning a gun is our right, and if you are stupid enough to use a gun in a fit of rage, you will be punished. Saying people shouldn't own guns because they may be irresponsible with it is like saying people shouldn't own cars cause they might get mad and run someone over with it. Think about it.

The problem with guns is they are allready here!
That is a fact we have to live with.
If every law abidding persone gave up there guns in america then quess who would have all the guns LOL.
You see the criminals dont go to the local gun store and buy and register ther weapons like you and I do.
They buy them out of the trunks of other criminals cars!
The really sad part about all of this is the fact that this poor fellow had to in defence of his and hid families lives kill 2 people in front of his wife and child!
He did what he had to do as a father and husband but it dos not make takinf a life any easyer.
Like David Carridine said in KUNG FU the taking of a life does no man honor.

Bill Parcells fan here, but always disliked the cowboys. I'm torn.

Is this great marketing by J. Jones or what? They play the AFC east next year. Jets, Patriots(Bill vs. Bill lite,lol) Miami(wannstedt from dallas) They still play 2 games against the G-men? Everybody wins here, J. jones sells tickets(and merchandise), NFL sells game ad slots for big $$ and Parcells gets a cool 18 million. Nice.

So no articles regarding youngens blowing their skullcaps off because they found dad's gun or death due to a domestic dispute gone overboard or articles where those "defending my property with my gun" actually goes bad (which it does in most cases)? I personally know two stories from that list that hit very close to home. But don't take this as anti-gun lobbying. The really cool magazines though are those for the CHP...they have pictures! Always makes an interesting photo when one of them speed-racer motorcyclists can't stop in time behind a semi's trailer.

assume that these criminals had no guns and the owner had no guns ... I still would say that it would favor the 2 intruders vs 1 man 1 woman and a child. You likely would of had a dead famliy if there were no guns. The gun and the familar terrian (his home) gave him the advantage to defend himself vs 2.

How many of you think you and your wife could take down 2 intruders? I wouldn't want to find out.

<-- Just another Texan, card carrying member of the NRA. Not much to be said about this one. The man defended himself and his family with what he had. Thankfully he had a gun. I have several guns myself and while I hope to never have to use them, I won't hesitate when that time comes.

Yes you can. I own two (M-16 and an Uzi) and my dad owns three.

You just have to register them with the BATF for $200.00. (A full auto will cost you a lot more though

)

Yes you can own full auto weapons. Not in PRC (california not china) , but Nevada allows it - and thank god for that.

Don't go too crazy here fellas. As much as I respect the rights of law abiding citizens to own firearms don't site cases such as this as a compelling argument for 2nd Amendment rights because statistics show that your firearm is much more likely to be used against you or a member of your family than it is to be used against an assailant. For every paragraph in the column known as "The Armed Citizen" in the American Rifleman magazine there's several articles in newspapers around the country about twelve year old kids accidentally shooting a playmate or a wife accidentally shooting a husband at 2 AM.
