Hey DejaVu--

I don't have AGW posting privs or I'd jump into it myself, but I don't so here you go:

I see in an AGW OT thread (I am a LONG time AGW lurker) that certain people are claiming that the "AH fanbois" totally rip up anyone who posts negative comments about AH until said person gives up.  I see that you are trying to show them a clue or two but it's not working very well. Here's (yet another) example you can use to prove them wrong:

Me.  Nobody is ever going to accuse me of being an AH fanboy; I've posted dozens upon dozens of times about various things I don't like about AH and I never make any secret of the fact that my feelings about AH are, at best, mixed.

Despite that, I am neither set upon by hordes of rabid "fanbois" nor am I banned for simply not being part of the bandwagon.  Indeed, I feel HTC is quite tolerant of comments which are critical of AH, and they even give time/consideration to such comments.

So please remind those over at AGW that it's not the message that causes the "fanbois" to attack, but the PRESENTATION.   Someone, like myself, who simply says "I don't like XXX feature and I think it's dumb" is okay since it's presented as nothing more than a personal opinion/suggestion.  Saying "XXX feature is an example of HTC's secret hatred of my favotire ethnic group/proof of their personal grudge against me/etc" is NOT okay.  Such a comment is insulting and hateful by nature and HTC is right in stomping it out.  Most companies wouldn't have permitted it to go on as long as they did.

I see the exact same sort of insulting complaints/flamefests happen over at AGW so I'm sure the regular AGW'ers recognize the mistakes these certain individuals have made, but an example can never hurt to show their errors  :)

Again, it's the PRESENTATION, not the message itself, that matters most.  WHAT is said is less important than HOW it's said.

No point really.  Once someone labels you a fanboi, there is little you can do about it.

So.. I'll let them troll under pseudonyms and pretend to be mature if it makes them feel better.

For now, its better just to remember me as the amazinhunk fanboi that insults handicapped people.

Yeah that's probably the best thing to do.  Ignore them as much as possible.  I just hope the AGW people see both sides of the fence.    It's not like it's an oppressive environment here.
