I know it wont be used for official scoring but in between frames folks may check their log find out what and who they killed.

Its not a big deal.........

But in an event where bdas are made from pilot aars and in turn battle strategy is then adjusted based on those bdas we dont really want everything to be known.

Thats all I care care about. I believe that I also conceded that should it be too much trouble then forget it.

I know that a log is kept for scoring purposes on the server side.

But usually in events that log isn't released till the end..........

HiTech, have you given this any  more thought?  I haven't heard much on the subject since you said this.

Then make text logging a two-step feature -- have 'Log text data to disk' be a checkbox in the FE setup, so each person could select whether or not they wanted to keep a log of their online performance, and put 'Enable data logging' in the arena settings, so it can be turned on and off on an arena-by-arena basis. That way, it could be enabled for the general arenas, but in a special-event arena where the pilots have to make their own AARs, you could turn it off at the host.

I did this for the CT once. The problem is time. AH flights are too short and not memorable enough to record all the information by hand later.

Also, when I pilot got back from a flight in WWII, it was part of his job to record it in a journal, and he would have all night to do it.

All of the data being requested is already in the system, it's just a matter of the system making it available for use. It would be very cool to have the info.

Righton, after parsing through csv's at work...I can now do it for something "I" enjoy. It's a great idea! What might be a good way to implement it, is to make the flat file's downloadable from the server by username by registering a username variable at the end of the http address. That way a squad leader could write a script to pull everyone's stats in their squad once a month and parse them in a way they feel better represents their squads goals.

I was just thinking of this thread the other night.  Still an idea I'd like to see taken somewhere.
