My first AH-film
« on: January 27, 2003, 03:26:03 PM »
Ok, I spent a few hours today making a film out of some of my AH recordings.
It's my first attempt EVER to do something like this, so please tell me what to do better.

Note1: As I only have about 10MB of web-space, I can only offer a very lo-res version of it, but if someone offer to host it, I can come up with a much better version. (in range of 20MB)

Note2: I had a lot of trouble getting the AH-viewer to overwrite the original views (see this  thread), so I could make some new smooth pans, so I did them while the viewer was actually writing the AH-film to a .avi file. This makes the headmovents happen in too big moves.

Note3: #1 and 2 combined makes it a bit hard to follow the "plot", but near the end of the film, the view changes to the cockpit of the P38, when he spots something. :) Well, the upload has finished so please take a look.

Lo-Res(7.35MB)

Hires link was getting drowned in the middle, so just putting it up here.
Hi-Res (22.1MB)

Thats a nice vidio, very watcherble dispite the low res.

Nice soundtrack, some really nice moves and shots.
Edited very nicely and use of fadeing in and out seams the clips togetaher well.

only thing i could say as a possible pointer is try and edit out to much "Static" shots.
thats shots that have not alot happerining in them, there was a few shots after the first kill that lingerd a bit just looking at a distant fighter, if people have to watch to much of nothing happerning, thats when ya loose them.

Somthing a lingerign shot is needed for mood or to set the scean, but they need to be used spareingly. Action is then name of the game :)

GREat vid well done

Take a look at the vidio i made for my squad

Oh great!  Now every dweeb in the game is going to start flying the C.205.  There goes a great 40 perk ride.

Thanks a lot.

"nice work snefens!  :)  Whats the name of that song?"

Thx. Song name kinda obvious isn't it? :) "Sleeping my day away" by D-A-D from back in 1989 D-A-D (former Disneyland after Dark until Disney pressed charges for use of their name)

"what software are you using to do the films? they look very good!"

I used AH's filmviewer to change views and convert to .avi, then I used Windows Movie Maker that came with Win XP, to edit the film-clips.

"Perk the 205!"

It's the C.202 I'm flying. Best 60 ENY perk ride :)

Doh!  Should have known that.  I was wondering how come the bad guys were taking so many hits before going down.
