For whatever reason, I decided to fire a few rounds, only thing was were we in formation OTR and I was behind sancho. Before I realized what I was doing... BOOOM. The whole squad broke out laughin thier ars's off.

I don't think i'll ever get off the hook of that one, hehe :D :D :D

I did similar thing in an Ar234 quite some time ago.  Went to engage RATOs and I had bombs selected..... BOOM!!! (this was before bombs were disabled on the runway!).

I had a similar experience though not in  262. I have a button that toggles through various salvo settings. Went through 'em too fast once and found myself silently floating towards the ground. Added a delay to it after that.

I wanted variable breaking, but don't have toe brakes.  I found it worked great setting both wheel brakes to one of the rotary knobs on my throttle!

Toe brakes don't work in here anyway from what I understand.

Never thought about setting it to the rotary knobs, though.

vorticon... was the key word "working" there?  :D

I remember when HT first brought the 234 into the sim. I thought, "hey cool, something new to try out".  Well, I went into the hanger and eagerly choose that puppy, then went to the runway and fired her up.

put put put

ummm, I thought jets were faster then this....end of the runway is coming up quick gents, what do I do??

"Did you fire the Rato's?"

Rato's?!? what the hell are those?!?

"You mean you didn't choose the rocket support for takeoff?"

Rockets? No, I didn't want to do a jabo mission, I just wanted to fly this puppy!

What do I do guys, I don't have that many buff perks?!

cliff edge passes, I finally reach 100ias just in time to make a nice hole in the ground. :D :D :D

moral of story: learn your plane and read pilot manual before takeoff, hehe.

Heheh.  And don't forget the guy who finds out rapid radio comms in a scenario force a bailout.

AH ergonomics:

1. Remap your bailout.  I use ctrl-enter x 3.

2. If you're going to have multiple sticksets, Keep basic flight controls the same in all modes:
    A. Elevators, Ailerons, Rudder and Throttle should always be accessible, and always be the same.
    B. keep the weapons systems buttons the same in all of them; these are: Primary and Secondary fire buttons and weapon toggle.
    C. If you've got to map your brakes or gear to your fire button, don't.  Buy a stick with more buttons or something.

3. Keep you beer mug on the RIGHT side, by the joystick, and the coffee on the LEFT.  If you smoke, lock down the ashtray.  In combat, you don't want to be looking for a spot to park your beverage.  It has to be automatic.  Sure, you may think this is "over the top" now, but you'll change your mind when you're midway through a noe raid and your second six-pack, when two La-7s show up on your six.  If you smoke marijuana, keep the bong away from all flight controls.

LOL... had a similar problem during an AW scenario a few years ago.  I used to use a PCDash game tablet for various game commands, like jumping to different gun positions, etc.  Once, I was gunning a B17 during this scenario which involved long bombing runs deep into enemy territory.  We came under attack and I was jumping all around the different guns..... seeing some attackers going low, I hit a button to jump to BALL..... or so I thought until I found myself in my chute after hitting BAIL! (which was right next to it!)  Of course, in AW there was no remote joining so I couldn't just hop back on..... very embarrassing.  :o  I reprogrammed the PCDash before the next frame.....  :)
