Is it going to be the case that when AH2 comes online, AH will cease. or will you run the two systems.

What about the price? will it be the same $14.99 a month, or will it move to a new price model, like some of the big RPG games (Everquest) where there is a discount for 3, 6 & 12 month lump sum payments?... Also will the cost per month be more?

People who are currently paying subs for AH, will they be automaticly transfered over to the new version?

Cheers

Actually, after that post he later clarified that they had not even thought about a price increase.  So let us hold down the specualtion :)

AH2 will replace AH when it is launched.  They will not be concurrently supported.

so basically you'll keep AH as it is, just add the AH2 features into it's own "arena"?

or are you moving away from the melee arena concepts in toto?

AH goes away when AH2 is launched.  Just like we don't support 1.10 anymore.  As to gameplay formats in AH2, check out the press release in the news forum, it covers that.

I had to read the above a couple of times before I got it, as this sort of contradicts the press release:
"Online play will be divided between servers running Aces High Classic - fast paced arenas with an emphasis on player vs. player combat - and the revolutionary new Tour of Duty"

Now I know that he means that AH2 will include the arenas that AH currently has, but it will also have the Tour Of Duty.

I believe what Pyro, Skuzzy and company mean is that AH2 will replace the current version of AH.  Just like 1.11 replaced 1.10.  In AH2, there will be two options of play.  The first will be reminiscent of what we are currently playing: MA with furballs, base captures, gv assaults, etc.  The second option will be the new Tour of Duty, where you register a character and build your military career.  The stats are kept, and your Avatar moves up/down in rank and position depending on how well/poorly you accomplish your goals.

So, if you log on and just feel like mixing it up Quake-style in the new MA, you can do so without affecting your Avatar in the Tour of Duty.
