Ideas:

Model the systems on and in the model - if a wire connecting the stick to the elevator dies, said elevator will move only to environmental inputs ;)

Degradatory damage - holes in wings/control surfaces lessens their effectiveness/durability... a wing with a few holes in the strats will rip off more likely under stress.

Will the new damage model be implemented in AH classic also ?

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.

I get the impression AH:Classic will be the same game as AH:2 but the arena will be current MA style as opposed to AH:TOD style.  So yes the damage model will be the same new one.

AH 2 encompasses 2 games in one (just as ht said in his post about naming the new arena).

AH:Classic will have all the graphic updates but keep the same type gameplay as in the main.

AH: ToD will differ from AH:C in gameplay.

AH2 is not AH:ToD

bringing them back to life

hehe...i felt like bringing back a VERY OLD THREAD from day 1.  I will be doing this often...

Anyway, i would love to see better smoke and particle effects.  When shooting a plane, i would like to see bits of debris and tiny puffs of smoke to come out instead of the weird flash sprites.  Also, it would be cool to see better flameouts, engines exploding, plane "leftovers", and seing planes tumble across the ground when shot down, not to mention better explosions.

If anyone has ever played Combat Flight Simulator 2, they will know what I am talking about.

It was stated by Pryo that a new flight model is currently under development, and that every planes surface is being broken down to smaller chunks.

By default this provides a new DM by providing smaller and more varied pieces to knock off a plane. Maybe even have holes in the wing?

Thanks for bringing this back to our attention acepilot.

:D I'm hoping this means the bomber formations, fleet
ships or even town buildings will reflect damage more realistically.;)
Easy in-game again.
