Planeset gaps filled in AH2?
« on: January 30, 2003, 04:41:43 AM »
I saw Pyro mention that HTC will not be releasing more planes before AH2. Now since AH2 will be a lot more realism based in the Historical context, there are quite a few gaps in the Planeset, both Planetypes (He111, I-16, Beaufighter, P-39, B-25 etc etc), and Subtypes as well (Fw190 A-3, Hurricane IIB, P51A, Spit IXLF, etc etc).
So, shall we be expecting a batch of new planes in AH2?
Gradually being added as the Tour of Duty moves between fronts and years?
Are the planes a new piece of artwork as well, or just smoothened a bit to suit the graphics update?
Just curious:)
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Theres a lot of gaps in the planeset that will get "highlighted" in AH:ToD.

There are certain theaters right now that can be run reasonably well.

A mid war MTO, BoB and we have the bare minimum for an 8th AF setup.

For pac it gets much worse, maybe midway (how do you make a set up with any legs based on midway?) The slot (again no legd here).

Even setting set up based around Rabaul, New Guinea and surrounding islands will require more planes and a new map.

A months set up attacking midway or running the slot would get old.

The Ostfront is even worse off, you maybe can pull off a kurland Setup (again legs) or something similiar to Niemen (again legs)

If the theaters are to be progressive, ie 8th af start in 43 ans proggressives to 45 then in all aspects there are planeset gaps.

8th AF

p47c
p38h or j
B24

109g6/as or asm

etc......

We can go through each and point out the gaps. Until we see what they have planned theres no sense in banging your head against that wall.

Our Pac plane set sucks, for anything realy, the planes we have are largely missmatched, even for a slot set up we nead some adations, at the very least a few varients, new Gunnie is the same deal, and Midway is just as bad.
