What did you just say? who said this?
« on: January 30, 2003, 09:13:36 AM »
"(I)f you have a breach that, by everybody's standard, at least in the United States, those of us in the House and Senate, and the president, join together and make a judgment, this is indeed a material breach, and then others -- some of them can't be persuaded -- if we have evidence, sufficient to show the materiality of the breach, we should be able to do what Adlai Stevenson did on behalf of the administration, Kennedy administration, and sit in front of the Security Council and say, 'Here is the evidence. It's time for all of you to put up. We need to all do this together.' And that's what I think the resolution that was passed suggests."

Why would anyone remember an inteview between Sen. John Kerry and Tim Russert?

What type of evidence was given during the cuban missle crisis?  only thing I remember was photographic evidence from recon flights.

What saddam is hiding I would think be much more difficult to find.  If we were to give photographic evidence of something being in a certain place before we were ready to seize the product would be kind of stupid.  Do you honestly think it would still be there when we finally do have people looking for it?

As far as humint goes it is not wise to reveal any information you've gain from people working at these sites.  If our government did those sources wouldn't be alive for very long afterwards would they now?  In fact I don't doubt iraqi security forces would have any problem whatsoever killing the entire crew guilty or not.  Then comes the need to gain new contacts and sources which would be much more difficult since we just got the others wacked by broadcasting the evidence all over creation.

I still can't get past the part about proving that something doesn't exist.

There's a flaw in the logic there.

Who said it doesn't exsist?  Our president said it does, we know they have equipment that should have already disposed of but iraq has not stated that anywhere in their report.

We are one of the few countries that elect our officials into office, there has to be certain amount of trust on our part that they know what they're doing and are looking out for our interests, granted future elections play a part what happens too.

Some didn't not vote for this president but do they just get to sit back and selfishly say well "I didn't vote for him" further dividing our country?  I believe certain elements took advantage of our divide by ramming planes into buildings and trying to knock down our surviellence aircraft in order to further the rift between 'us and them' attitudes infecting this country.

If our President gives us the run around then he's out of office but until that time we ought to support him.

Strange logic these days..

What type of evidence was given during the cuban missle crisis? only thing I remember was photographic evidence from recon flights.

Better than what evidence we're seeing now.

What saddam is hiding I would think be much more difficult to find. If we were to give photographic evidence of something being in a certain place before we were ready to seize the product would be kind of stupid. Do you honestly think it would still be there when we finally do have people looking for it?

Or the CIA could inform the inspectors they simply drive out to the site and find the stuff, no need to ask the Iraqies.

As far as humint goes it is not wise to reveal any information you've gain from people working at these sites. If our government did those sources wouldn't be alive for very long afterwards would they now? In fact I don't doubt iraqi security forces would have any problem whatsoever killing the entire crew guilty or not

Not easy to kill the entire crew if the inspectors and CIA agents standing right there.. The source would most likey leave with the inspectors.

Then comes the need to gain new contacts and sources which would be much more difficult since we just got the others wacked by broadcasting the evidence all over creation.

Why would you need to do that if you already have the evidence?
The President said something interesting the other night.. "And they even bar U-2 overflights"... Now I ask you, what do you suppose is barring these overflights? Could it be there's no photographs to take?

Remember, Bush didn't want to go through the U.N. He wanted to charge right in. The resolution was shoved down their throat by the likes of that evil Hillery. Now if he attacks without a U.N. security council mandate, Bush would be in violation of The Rule Of Law.

No more could we ask any country to respect the Rule of Law.

But if he's giving us the run around, how are we supposed to get him out of office if we're to support him? Perhaps I am mis-comprehending your statement.
As Americans, is it our duty as citizens to support our president even if we think he is wrong, or is it our duty to let our voices be heard?
