Perk Nut rant!

Yesterday I was returning to base from a town smash mission and found my base capped by a 51, and a spit.  I was down to about 100 rds of cannon in my 110, and was on vapors so I figured that I better get lucky or I would not be landing.  Well, the spit attempted to take out our AAA on the base and bought the farm (phew!).  The P51 had big alt and was engaged with a friendly.  He looked like he lost the advantage and dived in on me.  Well, I still had 100+ rounds so I nosed up since I had plenty of E, and fired.  I rittelled him from stem to stern and he burned in.  Then I get a local message from this AG something or another that I stole his kill.  Well, EXCUSE me I am thinking.  Next time I suppose I should let the Rat bastage kill me so mister perky can get his kill.  Um NO!  Sorry hero, someone attacks me, I will do my best to wack him.  My rank is a measly 300 something in this game. Not that I really care about such things.  I look at the roster and this guy is ranked #2 overall.  WTF is this guy thinking?  Pitiful display.  Dump the perks I say and make strats supply high demand planes, and vehicles.  If there were LALA, N1K1, and Spit factories you can bet that there would be some good Buff Strat missions going on, and possibly get rid of some of the rank/perk nuts.

Get one of those fast hi alt sissy planes like he cherry picks in
and follow him stealing his kills.
That'll show him :D :p

The MA is very much a feeding frenzy and you can't let yourself get upset when someone "steals" your kill.  There have been several times I'm working an enemy and maybe making a lag turn in pursuit (I fly mostly B&Zers) and to slowly wear him down when some Spitfire turns inside of me and takes the kill right before my work is about to pay off for me.  

And uhm, I think I'm ranked worse than 2,800.  300 is "measly"?

Yeah, watching 2 or 3 friendlies swoop in to kill the La7 after you just chopped off it's tail gets frustrating. Makes the need for killshooter all too apparent.

I usually thank them for their brave assistance.  It takes guts to shoot down a smoking heap of an aircraft!

Got caught in a 4v1 the other night, first started off as a 2v1 but then two high F4Us came screaming in.  As I came over the top and rolled to avoid the F4Us passes, they both fired and hit the Spitfire that was climbing up to me and they both blew up from killshooter.

I wouldn't worry about it much.  It seems that there are a lot of people who haven't realized that this game is meant for entertainment, not the fulfillment of some wet dream created by reading "I Flew for the Fuhrer" and "Thunderbolt" and who regularly read "Fighter Combat" for something more than just the quotes.

I think you did the right thing.  Hell, if the dude is ranked number 2, he should realize that there will be more bad guys to shoot at.  Its not like there is a finite number of them.

If you truely were in jeopardy and did what you had to do to survive, I can see no foul here on your part of any sort.  If it is the AG I am thinking of though, he likely already had that pony dead, he doesn't miss much.

They have this money contest thing going,  HTC sort of feeding this stuff.

BTW, the perk system isn't the problem in this case, it's the ego..............and the $50
