I was on-line in the CT when this came up and I said something like: "With killshooter off it kind of encourages teamwork, "or else".

I think it's good that killshooter is off; I feel a greater sense of looking out for my countrymen, knowing that if I shoot carelessly, they could go down.

Where I find it amusing having killshooter off is when manning 5" guns on a Cruiser. Bishops sent a horde of IL-2s out to sink our Cruiser. They were too close to grab a fighter in time, so I manned a 5" turret. The problem is that it takes a while for a 5" shell to reach a target. A bunch of Rooks (Axis) came over to tackle the second wave. They would fly right through the ack (even tho I was telling them to be careful). A 5" shell does not care whether you are friend or foe. When the attacks abated, I landed 16 kills, three of them friendlies. In each case, they flew between the target and the rounds already on the way.

Later, I took out a PT and put two torpedos into the Allied Cruiser. One La-5 pilot, mixing it up with a 109, decided to strafe my boat. Down he comes, I open up, he opens up and the 109 chasing him opens up too. I shoot the wing off the La-5, but the 109 driver keeps shooting, hitting my boat! Well, the heck with that I thought, so I shift fire a few degrees and shoot the 109 down too!. :D

Unfortunately, the 109 knocked out my engines, so I was forced to take a ditch and capture. Needless to say, I was not especially sympathetic to the 109 pilot's whining.

lol.  ouch.  some friendly knocked my eng (rad) out while in a 2 on 1... sigh...

the most fun i had with killshooter off was when organizing a russkie mission and threatening to send out the commissars after those who didn't join in.

:D

Widewing--How realistic.  Friendly fire is an important factor in any battle, escpecially air combat.  I think the Court of Inquiry would find you innocent since the 109 was attacking you.

"Killshooter off" opens up so many possibilities besides suicide, as Shane has so brilliantly demonstrated!
