C.O.P.S., there is no substitute.

There's just something special about seeing a dirty, drunken, white trash, unemployed idiot ripping off his shirt and screaming at the cops . . . two seconds before they tackle him to the ground as he continues to scream like a piggy.  hmmm...maybe I've said too much!  :D

...oh, and the guy that's in the opening credits now, the one with the Super Mullet, pointing at something while he rides a mini-bike.  That's just comedy gold, my friends.

Second best show...

One night when I was working at the jail, one of the state troopers brought in a trio of drunken partiers...two girls and a guy.  After filling out the necessary paperwork and getting the deputies (jail guard deps) to herd everyone away from the TV and into a holding cell, he produces the video tape from his cruiser and pops it in the VCR.

It shows him interviewing the dame who was a passenger in the back seat, now standing at the rear passenger door with the door open.  He finishes with her, then steps up to the front passenger to talk to her.  As soon as he steps away from her - the one in the back - she grabs her panties and pulls them off as she squats down, and proceeds to pee right there next to the car while the trooper looks on in amazement and disgust.  That was a very interesting job, even if it did suck.  :)

Nothing (except COPS)  has the flavor of police work...... but....

Hill Street Blues.

You may not like the show, hell... you may hate it.
But to this day..... 20 years later l I walked into the locker room with a "Hill St. Pct" homemade ball cap on and was overwelmed with  more "hey...  where did you get that!!!!" type comments than I have ever heard in  23 years of police work.

Its real police work, if you dont think so.............Email me.

The shield.. I tape it and watch it with my girlfriend since she likes it and doesn't get FX.   I hate commercials and generally don't see any network TV but...

The shield.... I can see the clear clean logic of the guy and the way he does things.   I would very happy on his team.

The shield is to PC what the man show is to feminism.   Much needed in my opinion.   Too bad that it would be impossible.

When Hill Street Blues came out it was so real life it was unreal.

The show lost it's edge after a couple of seasons, but I'd put that first season up as the No.1 cop show of all time.

I still have the VHS tape I made of show #1. It's a treasure !

I forgot about Homicide LOTS.  That one is better than Rockford.
