Westy,

Perception is a funny thing.  I'm thinking it will be more like going from nuetral to first gear

Did you ever think how a Lancaster with a 22,000 lb bomb handled like?

Rendar,
I've read an account that said the wings sprang downward when they released it.

Lifting that much caused a most unhealthy looking bow, with the tips skyward, out of the wings.

If we consider that a laden bomber normally hadles like a pregnant water buffalo, the the Lanc with a 22,000lb bomb would probably handle like a water buffalo pregnant with triplets.

I don't think we'll ever have to worry about it in AH though.  We'll be getting a standard Lancaster (hopfully one that was built in the first half of '42  ).

Pyro just said that we will be getting a Mk. III Lancaster (late version), with a max bombload of 14,000 lbs.
