I am assuming, Nacho, not having been there. Here is what the pilot had to say:
It's from WWII Online, and the color levels only were auto-adjusted in Photoshop 7. The 24 Havoc raid on Muchen Gladbach was planned by Locotus and led by Feretafc of our sister squad, Eagle Squadrons. Most of the pilots were from ES.
I took the shot about half way to the target in the middle of the formation. We were NOE, had a few fighters for escort, and you can see one at about 1 o'clock. We lost 3 aircraft to collision with terrain, but none to fighters.
We had some friendlies on the ground near the target that radioed reports to Locotus via TeamSpeak of EA activity. Feret timed everything just right, and we pretty much all arrived over the target on time. 3 109s and a Ju-87 were in the area, but there was not much they could do against such a large force.
Flak was really heavy over the target, because none had been taken down prior to arrival. I was third aircraft after the run in from the IP following Locotus and Feret. We queued on Loc’s drop, but he soon went down in flames since he was first in. Feret was shot up so badly that he ditched a short way from the target. I lost number 2 but made it back. There were 18 more Havocs behind us, so we flattened the place reducing production to about 25%. Over the target the inside of my aircraft was lit up like Vegas due to all of the flak strikes. Recon made a movie of the mission, and I'll post the link if I can find it.
