I doubt it, vulcan, but, again, I wasn't there.  The few times I have been in big groups like that, it was fine for what I was doing, but I sure wouldn't have wanted to be a fighter trying to bore in for the kill.

Don't think its the big groups, when I was there there weren't many EA, think its something to do with the AI AA.

What I think he is saying Glad, is this was a bad FM bug of IL-2 as well. Whip the flaps out regardless of FM effects and speed to slow down.

Manifold pressure should be the key to flying formation in like aircraft if the FM is good. AH does it pretty terrific if I remember from the DWHBG.

Every game I have ever flown in, if i ran up on the back of the formation, i would drop flaps to kill airspeed.  That is no bug.

edit-I just thought of something.  We may be talking abut 2 different things.  I don't use flaps to MAINTAIN formation, just to get into formation.  That make sense?

Maybe, but if you "ran" up to the formation, you may have been hauling bellybutton to catch up and in some sims and their respective planes, dropping flaps wouldn't be possible.

In modern aircraft they are load limited and locked out but yeah, I get what your saying.

And the photoshop colors on the WWIIOL pictures are great. Maybe not true life, but better than FB's Janes's WWII graphics that for some reason just look too cartoonish.

Those shots are what I wish flightsims as a whole look like. Maybe unrealistic, but really immersive.

Ack-Ack

They shelved AW4?  :(

And here I've been doing AH simply as an interim, waiting for the next "Air Warrior" version to come out! :p
