Congratulations, Ken!
Your IQ score is 126

At the same time, we compared your answers with others who have taken the test, and according to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is an Insightful Linguist.

The first thing we can tell you about that is you have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind. But that's just scratching the surface.

Quick Ma, pack the bags, we're movin to Paris and renting Ernest Hemingway's old place,  I'll paint during the day and write at night, we'll be millionaires in less than a year.......:D

Your IQ score is 136

This number is the result of a formula based on how many questions you answered correctly on Emode's Ultimate IQ test.

The even better news is that at Emode, we've taken your IQ test one step further. During the test, you answered four different types of questions — mathematical, visual-spatial, linguistic and logical. We were able to analyze how you did on each set of those questions, which allows us to shed light on the way your brain uniquely functions.

At the same time, we compared your answers with others who have taken the test, and according to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is a Visionary Philosopher.

The first thing we can tell you about that is you're equally good at mathematical and verbal tasks, and learn best through experience.

Great another visionary philosopher!  And my IQ dropped 6 points from test I took a year ago.  At that rate it reach zero in, hmm 23 years :)

What is the most authoritatve work that you've read on the subject? Have you read  "The g Factor: The Science of Mental Ability (Human Evolution, Behavior, and Intelligence)" by Arthur Jensen, 1998?
 It's only $59.95 for 664 pages of a 9.5 x 6.5 inches book. Facinating reading.

That is one that has escaped me. Could you fill me in with a little precis if you've read it Miko?

Gödel, Escher, Bach by Douglas Hofstadter, The User Illusion by Torre Norretanders, The Origins of Conciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes, Creativity by Dag Rommel, Prometheus rising by Robert Wilson.

These are a few of the books that have informed my opinion on the incomputability of intelligence borne of a complete inability to define said quality.

The problem: intelligence is what you think it is, whether something you say or do is intelligent or not really rather depends on your 'internal state'.

IQ tests make pinpoint observations about specific visual tasks involving reasoning and abstraction. How do you measure the IQ of blind people?

Testing for Intelligience Quotient probably can reveal differences in ability, but it is wrong to see it as an empirical measure of anything more than the subject's facility with the particular kind of test they are sitting. IMO

And yeah, this has gotta be an email harvester and sales tool.

rip said..

""If Lazs is smarter than Ripsnort, and Ripsnort is smarter than Weazel, than Lazs is smarter than Weazel"

True or false? "

I allready told ya... I'm way smarter than weazel.   I know I'm smarter than MT too so he either cheated or he took the 10% "minority adjustment".

I kinda cheated tho... as I had just studied for weeks for a certification exam that was 3.5 hors long and very math and chemistry intensive with some essay questions thrown in.   I was in "test mode" plus... I have been told that I have a "test mentality"... in that I can usually figure out what answer they want even if I don't know that much about the subject.

Your IQ score is 135

This number is the result of a formula based on how many questions you answered correctly on Emode's Ultimate IQ test.

At the same time, we compared your answers with others who have taken the test, and according to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is a Facts Curator.

The first thing we can tell you about that is you've fed your brain a unique collection of facts and figures over the years. You've got a good hold on words and numbers. But that's just scratching the surface.

Blah blah blah. Laws of statistics would indicate that not all of us would score above 105. Yet I have still to see anyone do that. They'd have a hard time to sell their stupid test if they told people they were morons, eh?

This test is also culturally biased as well. Non English speakers will have a problem with all the 'is to blah is to bleh' and all the 'insert word here' questions. So this test is just pure roadkille. How the hell am i supposed to complete sentences I've never heard before?

And still I score 135. Pure BS. One cannot measure intelligence in a 10-15 minute test.

My IQ is above average. How much or how little I don't know, and it ceased to be important to me once I got out of my 'Im supersmart and deep and most of the rest are just plebeian fools' stint I had between 20 and 22.

Facts Curator? Wtf is that supposed to mean? :D

bounder: That is one that has escaped me. Could you fill me in with a little precis if you've read it Miko?

Why, it's about empirically measuring intelligence, of course - that's what you've asked, right?

I will try to get to the books you've mentioned. I am not sure if I can ever believe a claim that concious thought appeared as late as 3000-4000 years ago, as Jaynes writes but stranger things were known to happen...

The Nrretranders' theme of the prevalence of "unconcious mind" hardly affects discussion of intelligence measurement anyway - concious or not does not really make a difference whether it can be measured and timed.

A good IQ (without culture bias) will test one's ability to analyze and deduce. It will not test one's ambition, drive, willpower, and/or discipline which are far more important to one's employment/financial success. Doesn't test one's "luck" either.

saburo i was joking that first time...didnt you see the |rolleyes| as for this time i chose random numbers to see how different an answer i would get...
