Two Marines charged with plotting to bomb base
Police: Three suspects downloaded plans for explosives

TUNKHANNOCK, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- Two U.S. Marines from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, are in custody after conspiring to use an explosive device at their base, police said.
Lance Cpls. Richard Morrison, 21, and Richard Thomas Medders, 22, were arrested Saturday along with Janna Rebecca Lynn Smith, 27, and charged with criminal conspiracy to cause or risk a catastrophe, and making terrorist threats and bomb threats, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The three downloaded information from the Internet on making explosive devices and said they were going to use them at Camp Lejeune, police said.
All three are being held in the Wyoming County Correctional Facility.
Morrison and Medders served in the 2nd Force Service Support Group, which provides combat support, said Staff Sgt. Jay Connolly, a spokesman for Camp Lejeune.
Tunkhannock is about 25 miles northwest of Scranton in northern Pennsylvania.
