Fire Modeled?

Soon after this latest version my squad had a little 2v2 in the TA. Harppa was flying the zeke(doing rather well in it). I made a pass at him and caused a fuel leak. On the second pass I didn't get a good solution and didn't fire but, he exploded 5-10 sec after the pass.

In our next squad chat in ICQ, Ghosth comments about what he thought was fire modeling in the zeke. Well that explained what happened to Harppa.

Is it only in the zeke? Don't think so.

Today I was in a B17 in heavy flak. I was in the tail gunners position when I took a bad hit and noticed being surrounded by orange and yellow. I jumped to the pilots position to check damage. Aux fuel had been hit. Jumped back to tail gunner, looking at this orange and yellow "fuel leak". Thinking this is strange right about the time I explode.

Do we now have fire modeled?

Yup,fire will kill the plane. So far ive had a p51 FW & c47 blow up on me when i was on fire. This takes a bit of time though. The c47 caught fire and lasted about 1 minute before blowing up. Seems to me the fighters takes a bit longer for the fire to eat though them. maybe 2 to 3 minutes,then they blow up.

This is a rare thing to,ive had many fuel leaks but only a few AC fires. Great addition to modeling by HT..

I get it all the time in the Zeke.  Fuel leak, no fire visible then BLAMMO!

Duh... thats when the No-Smoking light comes on in the zeke.

Personally this is the most enjoyable part of AH. Apart from pulling wings off flies, I find the ability to light up a zeke and then follow the little sucker around til he blows up most pleasureable!

Even better than this is too taunt the burning zeke pilot, reminding him should he bail my finger might accidentally slip and hit the trigger.
