Great map, it is actually several maps in one.  Quite a lot of diversity in terrain.  Areas with the canyon type foighting, and areas totally flat.  Lots of cv action.  I not been able to see the GV town, but people seem to like that too.

yes.  better escort and air superiority. don't blame your side's lack of tactis on the tactics of the other side.

LOL Shane! I've heard the activities of Doofus-Dweebius called a few things, but I've never heard the reasons for his behaviour labelled as "tactics". :D  rofl - but I had put my cup of tea down before reading this, so you don't owe me a new keyboard!

That one I got from this very board about the same time I received my very first "STFU" poster from Shane.

I just "acquire" them when I see them, but there are some very active "smiley" creators out there. Try doing a web search and you'd be amazed at what you get back.

PS I STILL think the map is cool even if I did lose 4 tigers in VH Town last night.

Because the horde of 190s and the P51s that accompany the inbound mission will eat them for breakfast. Don't need to be a tactical genious to figure that one out.

If you are worried about La-7s ruining your mission and killing the goon, there is nothing preventing a mission from bringing their own La-7s as goon escorts. We do it quite often. We try to bring at least 2. Fight fire with fire.

I guess the pilots that flew over the "Hump" had to go a little higher than you did Joc. This is realism and everyone should be happy that the designers put that realism in the game. Maybe they should have a Kansas map for everyone that doesn't like mountains.

i couldn't agree more jocster!  (and i'm not just saying that because you look like mr. clean, either.)

i've been slammed about 15 times for voicing my opinion on the trinity map.  it seems as though we're talking about the holy trinity, for crying out loud.

overall, i think it's an excellent terrain: great graphics, textures, colors, so on and so forth...but the mountains just plain suck donkey butt!  you take the work that nb (i think that's right) and mix that with the work that 10fuzzyanimals...err, 10bears and kanttori did on the fin/rus and current ct map, and WHOA...you'd have the ultimate terrain!

that is all.  :D

You guys are misunderstanding JOC`s statement. Let me explain. Joc did not have troops or supplies on the goon. Ya see the sheep tend to graze on the tender grass on the upper slopes. JOC was scouting for a place to land do some ole fashion sheep rustlin. A little dozer work for a dirt strip and a place to set up the porta pens and JOC would turn into a buckskin wearin mountain man. :D

Well Tuck...you haven't heard me 'slam' you once. I won't start now. First, the mountains are set that high for a couple of reasons. First, to discourage bananas from vulching the gv fights in the crater. So far, they are working well in that respect (though I am amazed at the number of goobers that fly into it all the time:rolleyes: ). The second reason is to try and 'impact' resets. Frankly, I am a bit tired of seeing resets occur 3 times a day on the weekends. Time will tell if this is a good or bad thing. However, somewhere in the neighborhood of 80% of the fields are not within 50 miles of a high mountain. Even so, people still aren't 'forced' to fly OVER them. There are passes through all the mountains except for the crater.

As for CT terrains, they are a totally different animal from MA terrains. This MA terrain needed to be designed for 500+ people to play on and have a good time. BTW, I enjoy the hell out of the CT arena. But, I have my doubts about how much I would enjoy it with 500+ other players :) .
