bridges in the new game
« on: February 14, 2003, 12:17:00 PM »
will the new game be having rivers that can only be crossed by bridges .targets that could be destroyed and make resuply or capture harder.
Captureing a bridge intact or destrying one in front of advancing forces would be cool and add a new level of realisum.
we all no cut a few bases of from roads and supplies and they fall quickly.
I suppose the same thing goes for railway bridges and the like.
but then this may be hard to incoperate in the game

I would also like to see bridges that can be destroyed, and thus need to be defended, in the new version of the game.

Bridges/Capture and destroy
« Reply #3 on: March 10, 2003, 12:29:46 AM »
The recently completed Neiman Scenario made use of bridges which were capturable and damageable, but they were not exactly bridges. They were runways, but they served the purpose.
To capture, an outpost had to be destroyed and troops flown or driven in per any base capture.

Even BETTER idea:  MINES on the approaches to a bridge...Oh what joy!  OH what FUN!!!!

They could be deployed from an M3, and would last for a fixed amount of time.  Of course, you could put 'em on an airfield, or whatever, too.  Right now, I'm thinking they would be really useful in Tank City on the Trinity map...

Back to the Neiman scenario, Not sure how they did it, but something was invisible except for a white patch on the ground. Yup, mines. Some vehicle could go over them ok, some couldn't, and some could unless you were turning. Just like hitting a rock or tree. Instant death.
Your idea advances that by making them player controlled. What a concept.
