Hippie Protester to Iraq Petition
« on: February 17, 2003, 11:55:55 PM »
I'd like to announce the official Hippie Protester to Iraq Petition.

To:  U.S. Congress
The anti-war crowd out there is loud and boisterous these days. Among their complaints are that the war is all about oil, and how it will just serve to feed more money into the various American megacorporations that support the "corrupt" military. They usually go on to say that George W. Bush is an idiot and has no clue what he's doing to the world outside of his own selfish agenda.

To put it mildly, this is all utter horseshit.

The average war protester seems to think he or she knows all about American motives with regards to Iraq. They know why GW wants to go in, they know why he wants Saddam out of there and they know why it's all so very wrong.

Do any of them stop to think that perhaps Bush and his many military, security and intelligence advisors MIGHT know more about the real situation than they do? Do the protesters stop to think that electing someone to office, then whining, complaining and second guessing them in public protests is counter productive?

I say these people should and have some faith in their elected officials. They put them there after all. Have faith in their motives and abilities, and have faith that those in power know a hell of a lot more about the current world situation then the average kid with a sign on the sidewalk.

This faith won't happen without impetus however, hence this petition. I'm suggesting that America take up a free and open "collection" to help these poor sorry bastards learn the truth. The money collected will be used to buy any and all protesters who wish to take part a ONE WAY ticket to Iraq, or the dictatorship of their choice. (with Iraq being given preference of course since that's what they're usually protesting).

Perhaps after being flown to Iraq and left there indefinitely they'll gain a better understanding of Saddam's methods of controlling his people, a better understanding of what 12 years of UN sanctions has done to the country and above all a healthier respect for the country in which they live.

Given enough signatures perhaps we can campaign those in power to take up such a collection… after all you know they’d be all for it.

Please, sign below and lets ship these hippie protesters to Iraq.

Thanks,
datter

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Amusing, but too black and white. The world is tones of grey.

Baaa..that an over used quote from some junkie on a bad acid trip.

Howdy Santa!
Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

And the average reactionary seems to know what the average War Protester is thinking? ... dumb article for a like audience.

And maybe "Nazi" was a little strong.... plug in "robot" instead.

No such thing as a "bad acid trip" Steve.  As far as I can remember anyway. :)
