Fair question. Its hard to define, there isn't anything I can really put a finger on outside of the incredibly far fetched nature of it. I accept a lot of that since it is after all just a comic book after all, but in the end it really comes down to this, the movie didnt make me give a toejam about anyone in it. Garner wasn't in it much, aflecks character was too confused himself, the villians were too cartoon. It was just a nothing movie.

Any movie that has Affleck in the cast most likely will suck. I was having an argument with my friends about this and they said we should see the movie and pressuring me to see but I stood firm ,thank the movie gods I did

Now... Hulk looks like CGI from Jurassic Park from the trailers I'm not impressed.
X-men 2 does look good I will save my dough for that one though

The extended trailers I saw on television were enough. I'm sure the movie stinks on ice, but...

eh, i was a big fan of the comics. guess thats why i really didnt catch on to the fact that the characters didnt develop that much since in my mind they were already developed. so i guess its a good movie if you have read the DD comics and are a fan of them. just like i think star wars is a terrible series. just wasnt a fan of the first 3 and these new ones are even worse..

How did Afleck become a star? The guy is totally boring. He looks like some guy who won a fraternity talent contest. Yet he's the biggest star around these days. Just don't get it.

too bad. DD was one of my fav's growing up.

Even bad actors are good in certain roles. Hell... look at Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Nicholas Cage, Tom Cruise, Keano Reeves, Sean Penn and a whole list of them... All nominated (or won) academy awards for roles, but the more you watch the more you discover they are really just playing the same part over and over again. Eventually, they land in the right role for their attitude and everyone thinks they are a great actor again. I could see how people could get frustrated by that... but only if they somehow worshiped these actors.

I watch as many movies as I can regardless of who's in them. Judge the movie based on that movie... not on how much you hate the actor before you even go to see it.

Ben Afleck wasn't bad in DareDevil. He wasn't great, but he wasn't bad either. It was a decent movie with about as much character development as any superhero movie where you have to explain where the hero came from and why he's doing what he's doing in a matter of 2 hours while throwing a battle with evil in too. Spiderman pulled it off the development a bit better, but the action in DareDevil was better. I think both did it better than the original Batman.

Its a decent movie... though full price may not be the best option. Matinee or rental applies.

The chick was hot. Not bad compared to the movie we almost saw: "How to lose a man in 10 days." Really doged a bullet on that one, since it was the wife's turn to pick but the other couple we went out with had already seen it

BTW, how do enhanced senses allow you to make a 20' vertical leap? Is that the... "sense of jump"?

Daredevil in the comic brought people to justice and never killed. In the movie he was more of a vigilanty type and killed 2 dozen people or so. (nothing like the comic book character at all)

Just for those who don't know in the marvel universe there have been only 3 heroes who kill...The Hulk, The Punisher, and Wolverine.

As far as movies go it was ok, nothing special...it accomplished the movie goal IMO which is take me away from reality for a couple of hours.

I think you are spot on regarding Cruise, but Dinero and Pacino have done excellent work. I also like some of Nicolas Cage's stuff. Affleck was ok in Good Will Hunting.

very few actors can actually act, most just play who they are all the time. john wayne and heston were the worst at that. todays version is arnold and sly. they all are hacks but have their place as character actors. they like cruise because he has no personality because it was wiped clean by scientology, and he does a very good job of portraying his non personality in his terrible acting jobs.

Actually, I totally agree on your great actors, though Jack Nicholson has not played as diverse roles as the others, he was at least smart about the roles he selected.

And the problem with Cage, Cruise, DeNiro and Pacino is that for every great performance, there are a couple of complete crap performances. DeNiro was great in Taxi Driver and whatever Cove... but they aren't really that disimilar of roles. Much of the rest of his stuff is just variations on the exact same thing. Pacino is even worse. He has to play the flamboyant guy fighting the system or he's crap.

Nicholas Cage is perhaps the most shining example. He has some simply stellar performances, but then follows it up with complete crap. His inability to adapt is his crutch.
