AHII needs...

A b29 bomber.  This was the most important plane in WWII and yet it is still exculded.  I think, as crazy as is sounds, that there should be an atomic bomb avalible to load on the B29.  This is what ended it WWII!!

Why would you ask for the bomb, then say it would be 'totally stupid'?

That aside, I think having an A-Bomb available (but not in the MA) would give event planners some neat mission possibilities.  

Before y'all start yelling at me about how A-Bombs are death to gameplay, keep in mind that I'm just suggesting it would be neat to have it supported in the code for special events and such, not as something that could be used in the main arena.

OK, who's been getting into dad's liquor cabinet?

If we have this here, how about these little things to keep gameplay interesting:

I say that for all the allies within blast range, not only do they die, but the B-29 pilot gets a killshooter penalty ...one hour per allies you vaporize, including any drone troops, supply drones, and the like. Add to that, 24 hours per friendly base that also gets vaporized or falls within the radiation field, that I am sure HiTech just can't wait to model, and remodel, and remodel....

Not to mention all the perks you would lose for dropping and not landing safely (dropping the A-bomb at high alt still produced a pretty nasty shockwave), and all the perks your allies lost from being killed in the blast while in their perked vehicles / planes.

If you want to have that type of firepower, then let's set up a series of penalties, arena-wide, so we can get some clue as to how senseless it would be to bring this into a game.

I may be wrong, but I doubt it :)

I say HT adds it to the offline "cool mission" version of TOD. Maybe give it it's own title even ... like ... "Elite sniper nuclear bomber pilot that wins the war" or some such. :D

But ... like I said somewhere else around here. Suggestions are just suggestions. Don't hurt a thing .... :eek:

Of course once you took the A-bomb and dropped it you'd lose the perkies anyways. One time deal.

I'm sorry though.. if you're stupid enough to stay within 100 miles of a place that YOU KNOW is going to vaporized by an A-bomb.. then well you should die. Wouldn't mind seen this perked to something like 10,000perkies...

And if you're stupid enough to drop it on something like a front line base then well... you should die too... Doubt they'd model fallout just maybe the initial blast and shockwave... don't know much about A-bombs, never really had any interest in building one.. haha.

The bomb "little Boy" that was dropped on Hiroshima only cause an explosion that spanned 5 miles that includes all minor damage areas so it could work!;)

If what you just tried to say was that they chose Hiroshima over Tokyo because they wanted to be able to gauge the extent of the damage to a city that had seen relatively little damage (as compared to Tokyo which had recieved quite a bit of damage from firebombing - thereby making it more difficult to determine the amount of damage caused by the A-bomb) ... then yes, that was why Hiroshima (and Nagasaki) were chosen. What this bit of information offers in regards or why you think the A-bomb is needed in TOD is still somewhat of a mystery to me.

edit: Ok .. read it again ... and it appears that you think the A-bomb would be feasible in AH because it only encompassed a blast area of 5 miles.

Silly. TOD isn't being designed for individual players to blow away the enemy and get them to capitulate.

The plane that won the war ... the bomb that won the war ... the pilot that won the war. Maybe, someday, your game will be designed. But I doubt it will be an online mmp one. ;)
